DESCRIPTION:Hideko Iwamoto \, George Washington University\n\nOne of the lo
ngstanding unsolved problem in the nuclear physics is that of the nucleon\
nresonances N* and Δ\;*. The lifetime of these intermediate states is
very short since they\ndecay strongly. Their parameters\, mass\, width\, a
nd coupling constants to various decay\nmodes are not well known. To solve
this problem\, double polarization experiments are\nconsidered to be a ve
ry effective tool. I will present the preliminary result of the helicity\n
asymmetry āEā for γ\;p →\; π\; 0 p channel f
rom the first double polarization experiment at\nJefferson Lab and compare
this result with the prediction of theoretical models.
