In a truly model independent approach we review the class o f anomaly free U(1) extensions of the SM. Parametrising the extension in t erms of three observable quantities\, namely\, MZ&prime\;\, the \;Z-Z& prime\; \;mixing angle (alphaZ) and the extra \;U(1) effective gau ge coupling (g'\;)\, which absorb all model dependence\, we proceed to draw exclusion contours in the parameter space. For the exclusion limits w e use the latest LHC DY data\, unitarity\, and electron--muon-neutrino sca ttering data. The DY data turns out to be the most stringent\, but the oth er two constraints have situational merits\, as we discuss.< /p>\n DTSTART:20180820T193000Z LOCATION:Physics Building\, Room 204 SUMMARY:Another addition to the U(1) jungle END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
