My research is concerned with coherence within and between atoms. I use highly excited atoms (Rydberg atoms) which interact strongly with each other, and unfortunately interact strongly with noise as well. Previously I have explored Superradiance effects, or the lack of it, displayed by an atoms ensemble. This to figure out how interactions between individual atoms can destroy the cohenrence of the whole ensemble. Currently, I am exploring the possibily of using Topological controls on atom states. Topological controls could be the future of quantum control methods since they are insensitive to noise. In applications like quantum computing, this noise insensitive property could reduce the need for error correcting and vastly improve efficiency.
