DESCRIPTION:Anthony Palladino \, University of Virginia\n\nThe PEN experime
nt aims to measure the semileptonic decay π\; →\; eν\;(γ\
;)(π\;e2 decay) branching ratio at PSI\, with an ncertainty
of Δ\;B/B∼\;5×10-4\,or better\, using a large-angle
detector system featuring a pure CsI calorimeter. This experiment will giv
e a stringent test of lepton universality. Preliminary results from a basi
c level analysis of data from the first two developmental runs will be dis
cussed.\nThese results\, coupled with a discussion of experimental techniq
ues\, such as the use of a segmented active degrader and target waveform d
igitization\, will demonstrate our ability to control systematic uncertain
ties in the experiment.\n
