The Muon g &minus\; 2 Experiment at Fermilab has measured the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon \;to 4 60 parts-per-billion\, \;based on data collected during the first phys ics run in 2018. \;The experiment determines the anomalous precession fre quency of the muon spin inside the highly uniform and precisely measured m agnetic field of our storage ring. \;Our result is in excellent consis tency with (and slightly more precise than) the BNL measurement of the sam e quantity from two decades ago. \;The combination of the experimental me asurements increases the tension with the Standard Model prediction\, enha ncing the significance of the discrepancy to 4.2&sigma\;.&nb sp\;In this semin ar we will present the challenging experimental measurement and discuss th e status of the discrepancy. \;
