" Quantum criticality in the high temperature superconductors"Professor Subir Sachdev , Yale University [Host: Eugene Kolomeisky]
ABSTRACT:
I discuss the phases and critical points of quantum antiferromagnets in two dimensions
and their relationship to the physical properties of the high temperature superconductors. Non-magnetic impurities are argued to be
a sensitive probe of the wavefunction of the electron spins: I will describe
recent experiments on such impurities and the theoretical insights they
have provided on the interplay of antiferromagnetism and superconductivity.
