The University of Virginia has an Engineering Physics program (link: www.virginia.edu/ep/), which is distinct from the Physics program. Engineering Physics operates under both the School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, through the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Department of Physics, respectively. The requirements of the program are similar to those of the regular physics program, but with greater emphasis on applied sciences in the course selections and the research projects.
